Parent Communication
Weekly Communication: (11/6-10)
Hello Families,
Happy November! November and December can get a bit busy, so take a deep breath and watch emails/learning logs to help know what to prioritize!
Veteran's Day- On November 9th, students will be encouraged to participate in Patriotic Day! See flyer attached! On that Thursday, they can wear patriotic, Patriot's Day, or regular school day attire. Also, there will be no school on Friday, November 10th to honor the holiday. Check out a local activity if you have time such as the Murrieta Parade and Field of Honor (Flags).
Colonial Thanksgiving- On November 17, 3rd grade will be celebrating Colonial Thanksgiving! This will be a fun time of food, crafts, and games. An email went out earlier this week, but here is the Sign Up Genius Link again for your convenience! Thank you so much for being a blessing to our 3rd graders! Please see the attached invitation and please consider donating your time or items to help make this event extra special!

Geography- Time to master those States and Capitals on the East Coast! Testing will be on Nov. 15th, and students will need to know the states, capitals, locations, and 2 letter abbreviations for these states! Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine. Song 1 and Song 2 are great review options that the kiddos love to sing!
ASB Talent Show- Students are able to audition on 11/16 for the upcoming Talent Show. If chosen, they will rehearse on 11/27 for the 11/29 Talent Show. This is a closed event just for the student body during the school day. More information to come or reach out directly to Mrs. Pimienta at fpimienta@temeculaprep.com. If your child is interested, please have them start practicing!

Math Communication:
Good morning Math Families,
We are continuing Topic C next week and will end on the Topic C quiz on Thursday. This topic can be a bit tricky as it introduces different strategies to assist students on mental math. I have attached the "Family Math" sheet incase you have not seen it yet. I post these on my Teacher Website, under "Parent Communication" -> "What we are Learning". Here is the link incase you have not visited it yet! https://mrsjfinona.temeculaprep.com/home
The student's math game projects are looking awesome! I am looking forward to seeing the final product and having the students play the games that were created!
Here is the timeline for the project:
10/27: Brainstorm complete and idea of the game approved by my
11/1: Rough draft with 12+ questions complete
11/8: Final board game complete and submitted
11/15: Students will have the opportunity to play the board games in class
Please let me know if you need me to purchase poster board or other small materials for your child if you are in financial need. I would be more than happy to help!
The files that are attached have also been printed and should have been placed in the "math section of their binders".
